This beautiful space downtown feels like a bustling Californian cafe that's been here all along.
Enter on Yates and you’re welcomed by smiling faces behind a glass case filled with some of the finest pastries in the city, a selection of Fol Epi breads, sandwiches and other handheld food to go or stay. Past the coffee bar waits Agrius, a full service restaurant serving weekend brunch, weekday lunch, and dinner Tuesday to Saturday.
The entrance to Agrius faces the refreshed courtyard setting which, come Spring should be a pretty awesome patio setting. More glass than wall, the room is filled with natural light under high ceilings, with views of an open kitchen and sleek bar. Brunch is a nice selection of local eggs, meats, and breads under a very fine layer of house made hollandaise.
With a full time butcher on staff, Agrius is aging and making their own sausage, charcuterie and cuts of meat for their dishes. Simple dishes focused on quality, with great portions (to me means not huge) and a selection of small producer craft beer, wine and spirits to enjoy alongside, will make for a wonderful start to your day.
