Our first Winemaker event was a great success.
Winemaker Bradley Cooper took us through 2014 Red Sky Rosé, 2013 Fleuvage, 2012 Altostratus, and 2013 Cumulus Nimbus. Each paired with a dish by Marina Restaurant's Chef Lukas.
2014 Red Sky Rosé // Grab your glass and head for the cheese display with compressed pear, and house made crackers.
2013 Fleuvage // Sit down to Salmon Twice Done. Raspberry & cherry quick smoked steelhead gravlax, Kuterra salmon terrine, Jerusalem artichoke & chanterelle risotto.
2012 Altostratus // Instagram your red currant and fig duck confit with brown butter walnut Brussel sprouts, heirloom carrot cotton.
2013 Cumulus Nimbus // Sit up straight for the star of the show. This single barrel Pinot Noir is paired with blackberry glazed venison with date and Grana Padano demiglace, baby Yukon potato pavé, carrot purée.
A Garagiste Producer in the Okanagan Valley with just 500 cases of Pinot Noir in annual production, Black Cloud Wine is a combination of talents from Proprietor Audralee Daum and her Winemaker husband, Bradley Cooper. They offer small lot, hand crafted Okanagan Valley wines.
After nine vintages as Township 7’s Winemaker, to now in his second vintage at Serendipity Winery, Bradley partners with high quality growers, producing Black Cloud since 2008. Grapes are sourced from highly-regarded vineyards in Okanagan Falls and on the Naramata Bench.
Cumulus Nimbus made it's debut appearance outside the wine club.
In Victoria, find this single barrel Pinot Noir exclusively at The Marina Restaurant, and Spinnakers Spirit Merchants in Vic West.
"We bottled straight from the barrel with no filter. This wine will not have the kind of brilliant clarity of a commercial wine. Expect a little visible blurring. I also expect this wine to throw a sediment deposit from an early age. Bottled in January of 2015, it’s showing remarkable evolution in these first few months and I’m hoping for prime development to show around mid-2017." -- Winemaker Bradley Cooper
Cumulus Nimbus is sold out, you can find it at Marina Restaurant, Spinnakers Spirit Merchants in Vic West, The Local Liquor Store on Salt Spring Island, and Metro Liquor Discovery Harbour in Campbell River.
